Won't it require a fairly hefty current draw? In which case a DC-DC converter wouldn't be cheap.

 

The link you supplied goes the other way, you are looking a some serious pennies, almost to the point where it would be cheaper to get a 24v alternator and then step it down for the rest of the car.

The charger only uses about 100watts max i have till only this weekend to get all this sorted so changing the alternator would take to long:(thanks for your input mate:)

I have thought of 2 battries alright if all comes to all Gav guess ill have to do that,bit messy but not many options at this stage:(
