MaveriK
For me it has to be Sainsburys own brand ginger nuts. I dunk 'em in a cup of tea made with vanilla soya 'milk'. Ginger?!?!?, tis the devils food english, best left! Chocolate hobnobs, broken in half, paired choc side in and dunked to protect against choccy ullage. Mike
And i thought i was the only 1, also just good old plain malted milks dunked in the cold white stuff, i`m going to have some right now! arrh, malted milk, the original milk dunker I road tested the new 'waffer' Penguin biscuits last night. It was the first go, so as a control group no dunking was involved (although my feeling is they will lend themselves to milk more than tea). I'm rating them as a strong 7/10. I think they maybe dabbling in an area that has pretty much been perfected by the likes of Blue Ribbon etc. Over and above that, my main criticism was that they were simple too chocolaty. Sorry to any purists reading this thread, I know Penguins are not strictly a 'dunker'. Are biscuits generally lending themselves more to milk than tea these days? Or is it simply the ‘dunking journey’ I now find myself on?
bignum
Tbh i dont dunk any biscuit with chocolate on it in cold milk, the chocolate stays to firm, must be a hot drink:)

stevie_b
How do you load of dunkers deal with the sediment that forms in the bottom of your mug post-dunkage? Or maybe my dunk duration is too long, allowing the dunkee to be structurally compromised.

There is always going to be some structural degredation to the dunkee, but in the end, it's a small price to pay for sheer crumbly liquid joy. Mike
It sounds a lot like your dunkee is being structurally compromised I would advise regular 'test dunk' brews to enable you to establish robustness of biscuit against temperature of brew. With enough test dunking under your belt you will perfect the timing of any given dunkee. I would suggest keeping a spoon close by for any 'test dunk' outings, just in case

Mike
This thread prompted me to look through my favourites for an old friend: http://www.nicecupofteaandasitdown.com/ I can't beleive Oreos are made by Philip Morris!? That explains it! Reveiw here Baked by Nabisco, (National Biscuit Company) since its founding in 1898, and currently selling at the rate of 11 billion biscuits a year, the Oreo proudly proclaims itself the world's number 1 biscuit. Nowadays Nabisco is part of Kraft foods which is part of the Philip Morris group of companies (recently renamed to Altria Group), who own most brands of cigarettes, coffee, chocolate and snack foods you can think of. Marlboro, Benson & Hedges, Maxwell House, Dairylea, Milka, Terry's, Kenco, Planters, Vegemite and Ritz, to name just a very very few. Altria are also the largest shareholder in world's second-largest brewer, SABMiller. Nabisco bakes the Oreo world wide, our review pack being baked in Spain. The Oreo is basically an imperial juggernaut of a biscuit, whose stable mate brands use nicotine, alcohol, caffeine, fat and sugar to appeal to consumers. If you are looking for that lovingly home baked taste you really have come to the wrong place. It concludes; So to wrap up, if you want to make a protest against globalisation through the medium of biscuits then the Oreo is the chappy. Simply stand in front of them in your supermarket and prevent other shoppers from picking them up. The Oreo backlash starts here
AndrewOW
Plain chocolate biscuits, ginger nuts and malted milk in coffee. Rich tea in tea, and anything dipped in hot chocolate is instantly transformed into something hugely satisfying! Have not tried Oreo's yet, but I like the sound of the chocolate filled ones. They sound a bit like Bourbons to me. I also have to admit to liking Garibaldi's, but I've heard they contain dead flies and other nasties. I'm sure they are good for you anyway! Mike
Nothing says 1978 quite like a cup of milky tea and a Garibaldi. Yeah, but I also think of The World Cup in Argentina for my 1978 memories, but I don't want to digress from this tasty thread. So for me then, the late seventies was probably represented by the noble Golf chocolate biscuity delight.

I've never had Oreo's, so I'll reserve judgement on them, but I'm not expecting anything special, as 'we' make the best chocolate and biscuits in the world!! In my humble opinion, of course! Mike
Burn her! Indeed. Burn her. Yogurt flavoring has no place in the biscuit world You want yogurt flavouring? find yourself a thread about Flapjacks

Mike
Not again So multi-dunks? Apart from the obvious Rich Tea, any other biscuits require more than one dunkee to reinforce robustness over brew temperature?
