Drawing of Exhaust System..

Klank

Recommended Posts

Good afternoon, all!

This may be a strange request.. But I'm wondering if anyone out there have fabricated their own exhausts? I'm ideally looking for a dimensioned up sketch of an N/A exhaust system.

I'm wanting a cat back for my Supe, but they're a bit out of budget right now. Conveniently, I'm draughtsman for a hydraulic engineering firm and we have all the facilities to manufacture such an item! However, we don't have ramps and I use my car on a day to day basis, so would struggle to find the time to remove the system, measure up and replicate.

Don't want to sound tight, but £400+ or £30 for a few meters of 2 1/2" st/st pipework, couple of flanges and a few quid for decent backbox. Got to remember, it's hard times for everyone! ;)

I may resort to removing the exhaust, but if anyone has any sketches that would be much appreciated. I have searched, but to no avail.

Thanks in advance for any help/advice. :)

Rgds,

Keith.

You could be on to a winner there mate.

Due to the twists and limited DIA in the stock exhaust system, pretty much all aftermarket options hang down under the chassis instead of following the original track.

I'd hazard a quess a few members could be interested in something that followed the original lines.

Or, you could make your own but simply follow suite with the rest of the aftermarkets and just have it hanging down. Would be a lot simply for you to produce.

As for a drawing; no idea. Might be something of use in the maintenace manauls that many people on here have from groups buys a long time ago...?

Don't have my copy at hand

Why not get a replica TRD Gen2 from ebay? one seller is flogging them for £199 + £8.50 postage!

Fitment:

Toyota Supra JZA80 1993-1998 Twin Turbo & N/T, UK & Import

I'm gonna get one this month hopefully, it'll go very nicely with my manifold i just bought.

A mate has one of these although he got it from XS Power (identical exhaust with different badge, Motoria, Jap Speed, AutoBahn88 all the same) and its built really well. Forget about the bad things people say about XS Power stuff. I've yet to see bad XS Power parts (except their wastegates).

Personally i'd get a used twin turbo (slightly large tube bore) stock exhaust (they are usually given away or had for £20-£30) and then with the facilities you have you could cut out the centre two boxes and replace with straight tubing. Obviously you will also have the back box so could take the dimensions from that to fabricate a tail pipe :)
