dash painting

SUPRALOOPY

I'll be doing mine in that suede look paint like Terry S's dash if I ever do one again. It's rather like the original dash coating the facelift cars had, nothing at all like that rubber crap in the earlier models.

to remove the fag lighter you have to push the metal inside out by twisting and pushing, don't be scared it will come out and then all the rest just falls out!

also i've found the best thing for doing your dash silver without the glare.

it is called five wheel silver, available from all good motor factors i have just done mine and it looks the nuts and all with some celly primer and 800grit paper for prepping then make sure the temp is right and off you go with an aerosol believe it or not. the best thing for removing the rubber stuff is 120 grit and then a quick rub with 500grit wet.

prime and flat with 800 mine looks good and wil put pics up when done!!!!!!!!!!

hi back thread back from dead. got all my dash out and drivers door window control box. i been trying ages to get cig lighter out. cant suss it out. also how does the lights dimmer switch come out. dont want to force anything and break it.

while all the dash is out was thinking of changing the led bulbs if its not a big job, they look like they just screw in?

seems like it might be worth it while its in bits.

Might as well add something to this post :)

Twist the metal bit off the lighter so its at the angle in the picture. Than you can just puch it down. Towards the front of the dash. The green bit can stay attached to it.

The grey bit and black housing can then be puched out, and they can stay attached together as well.
