Hi,

Finally decided to have a serious look at a TT6 this weekend. Today i was meant to be making a phone call and organising a look while Mrs H and I are up in the Yorkshire Dales for a few days having a relaxing time etc.

Then this happened...!!:(

Whilst playing football last night at Manchester Soccerdome, during a dazzling piece of individual skill where I nutmegged one and drifted past another, I was then assaulted by a slide tackle from a third man desperate to stop me. He slid into my standing foot as I was just about to strike the ball for what can only be described as a "wonder goal"....:D The pain was incredible and I said immediately that it was broken, although I have been known to exaggerate occasionally. My ankle felt a bit floppy as I fell and it then went crunch as I tried to put some weight on it as I was sat on the deck.

After spending 20 mins lied on the floor being undecided whether to faint or throw up, I was told that the staff were going to ring an ambulance for me. I rang Mrs H who was 16 miles away with two kids in bed. The Supra was parked outside the soccerdome and there was no way I was leaving it there overnight.....

After an hour of pain the missus and my dad turned up and took me to Wigan Infirmary where I spent 5 hours in casualty and finally got home at 4am this morning.....

The prognosis is that I had dislocated my ankle but managed to put it back in position myself by accident. I have also broken it in two places..... It looks like this is going to be my view for the foreseeable future...!!

I am due back in the infirmary at 11.30 this morning for a full cast to be applied. Work are not too amused....:D

My main problem is that with 6 - 8 weeks out + physio (Gaz Eves) this will be a serious crime against quality football...!!:D

I suppose the car will have to wait as I planned to get ours cleaned up ready for sale and also haggle for a TT6 this week..:(

Ouch! Thats a nasty injury. Hope you heal quicker than expected! When you return to the soccer pitch, remember to return the favour.

In fairness the bloke who did is not a nasty player. The game had got a bit tasty and I was a wee bit unlucky that I put myself between him and the ball at the wrong moment. The guy was mortified and came back to the soccerdome half an hour later to see if I was ok.

I texted him this morning just to make him feel guilty.....:sly::D

:D brilliant, did you text him at 4am? Thats what I would do lol.

We play footie (work's team) and over recent weeks it began to get quite rough but we all enjoy it, nothings intentional but neither do we go easy. Somethings happened to my ankle, as was tackled and went down my ankle just cracked loudly, the swelling has gone down a bit and I can just about limp around on it. Nothing in comparison to your injury.

I'm glad I didn't click on this at lunch!

Sorry Matt. I did think about a warning but I have had to look at it for 12 hours so I thought everyone else could stomach it....:sly:

Sterling effort there on the break. A friend did that once running for a train! I had to drive him to hospital after he limped into work. Did you get a copy of the x-ray? Always good to show people..

Well hopefully it'll heal back stronger with the bone reknitting itself :)

Gives you a quality amount of time on the PS3 / Xbox though! That and maybe you'll find a nicer TT6 for your money possibly.

Hope the road to recovery is smooth for you chap.
