simonsupra
well seems like we are well into bug season now i find it so hard to get them of my car what does every one else use.
michael
I use a wax friendly bug remover but a decent shampoo left to soak with luke-warm water can help soften them up a bit before you wash. Lay a soaked cloth over the front of the car so they get chance to loosen. Once clean multiple layers of wax on the front, bonnet, mirrors etc and glass treatment like Carlack / Rain-X etc make it easier to remove them on the lights and windscreen. miko_supra
On my run around i find that the local BP carwash really grinds those bugs off
peter richards
i use a mixture of TFR and a citrus degreaser , got it in a pump sprayer which i go round the vehicle at the start of the valet / detail , as ive not got the time to soak for a few hours when i turn up and the cars a mess , so doing the above helps soften the little buggers , then the first coat of snowfoam plus a 5/10 min rest seems to get 90% of them off . but as michael has said if youve got time do as suggested. but for gods sake dont rub them off as youll mark the paintwork
DSK
Autoglym Active Insect Remover. I bought this and thought it would be like all the other bug/tar removers that do f*ck all. I was WRONG. The autoglym active insect remover was easy and effortless. (My supra is used for high speed motorway work and this product works everytime). I just spray it onto the affect area, then snow foam the car (bilt hamber snow foam). Leave for about 5 minutes and then gently pressure wash off, everything is gone!! Miguel
Peter, have you any experience with Diamondbrite? It was sold to me as the be all and end all of paint protection. It takes nothing short of an angle grinder to get bugs off and they have stained the paint. Kinda makes me question whether it has been applied or if it really is tripe in a bottle. peter richards
no not really , its supprising sometimes the amount of marks that can be inflicted by the bug splats in their final moments of life , had to machine a full front end the other day due to them marking the paint on contact . have you access to a buffer it might just need a going over to get the marks out
Miguel
Yeah, this was meant to be the quick wash miracle barrier that stops all from getting through. Looks like I need to find a nice valeter with a mop and start again.
peter richards
to far for me to do it lol, but even machining that stuff can be difficult, kills me to see the stealers charging hundreds of pounds for it
marcAB10
i can't recommend.. wait for it... halfords 'naturals' range bug remover, yes really, my dad has a white car and find it impossible to get all the bugs off, but it really works a treat, the fact it's always sold out up here (not the rest of the 'naturals' range, just the bug remover) speaks for itself. Thats what i use if i only have time for a quick wash.

I only drove to Brighton and back last night, and the front is covered in the little buggers. Looks like I'll be cleaning the car, yet again, later!
