Cruise Control Removal

Recommended Posts

I am looking to remove my cruise control unit from the engine bay as I have an aftermarket steering wheel, so it never gets used. It will also help in my quest of tidying up the engine bay.

The question is: Is it just a case of removing the control unit and cable from the engine bay and the cruise control ECU from the car? If I do this will I have any potential problems, such as warning lights coming on or problems with sensors etc?

Thanks for your help,

Jason

there should not be any problems with removing the cruise control motor and ecu, as the ecu turns the cruise control light on that should not be a problem, its not connected to any sensors as such just taps into the speedo signal, will not affect the abs or traction control either, i know all this as i am fitting cruise to my car and have gone through the wiring diagrams etc to see what i need/have to do, hope this helps. regards chris.
