Kev_A
Do I need the ball joint removal tool detailed in the how to for this?
Mike M
Nope, two hammers. Hold one behind the hub flange and give the stud a good whack with the other and it should come out no probs. You might need a willing assistant to hold a drift of some sort if the stud is snapped flush with the hub. Use the wheel nut to pull the new stud through. 5 min job. apart from removing the wheel, caliper, disc etc lol.
Ian C
The ball joint method will minimise stress on the wheel bearing as it only need a tap to shift the stud/ Clobbering with a hammer is a bit harsh if you're mechanically sympathetic -Ian
