Supra n/a upgrades - few questions

Hi there!

I've been wondering (after serching on the forum) what can I do for my 2jz-ge to make it more relayeble? Exhaust, Manifold but what about Crank pulley, lighter pulleys, Adjustable Cam Gears. After calculating it would cost about 700 Pounds (use ammazon.com). If some one will be intrested about items I can link them.

Did any one done it before and can prof it with dyno sheet?

What kind of power can we get.

Ps. Please do not say "drop tt on it". I know what will give me the most power but I would like to be n/a. And I would like to get some more information about making ma n/a more alive :).

Sorry for lang, i'm from abroad but doing my best.

Cheers.

What are you after - reliability or more power? For reliability just service it. For a very small gain in peak power (but at the loss of mid range torque) you could change to a tubular manifold, cams, decat, aftermarket cat back but that's about it without spending big money. Even those mods would easily eat up £700.

Adjustable cam pulleys are a waste of time, as are lightweight pulleys.

As big boy I want to do my "toy" more happyer so that why I want to change something. It's not just about doing it Loud cos I like to hear engin rather than just an Exhaust. That why I'm asking about Crank pulley, lighter pulleys, Adjustable Cam Gears.

You won't see any power gain from those, the only people that claim power gains are those that sell them, funny that :D

You can get some level of peak gain with the exhaust mods, but it will be *extremely* loud.

Your money is best spent elseware to make the car perform better - suspension and geo, brakes, lightweight wheels with grippy rubber, full service, etc

Nizam?

Exhaust and a single decat to make it sound nicer. Double decat is too loud on an NA, and this way you'll also still pass the MOT fine with one cat. Forget any other engine mods on the NA, Homers list is the right way to go rather than chasing more power.

i dynod at 250hp 249 lb torque at interpro n thats spending around £2000.

double decat

3" exhaust

tubular headers

80mm throttle body

bigger intake plenum

map 2 ecu (mapping from interpro crap)

power enterprise cone filter drawing air from behind bumper

exhaust is stupidly load.needs to be downsized to 2 1/2" to give me more back pressure.

This is where my quote come from. That why i thought i can put some money and get some extra power.

The headers may free up a few horses, but the rest is pointless.

Yes, and who's to say the dyno operator wasn't just giving him what he wanted to hear after he'd spent all that money with them ;)

to be honest i dont trust them.ok had the print out but apparently interpro are known for being over.it has also given me a flat spot when pulling away unless i have the revs up.this is all in place as i am supercharging it.seems overkill to start with but its in place ready now.aircon all removed .seems enogh space for the charger, but need shorter snout.

i respect your ideas but after seeing countless attempts at supercharging an NA and never seeing any of them completed and running im a bit scepticle.. good luck to you though
