Headlight problem

My full beam lights aren't working.

Dipped and side lights are fine, just no fulls.

The bulbs are fine, I've checked the connector with a volt meter and no power is getting to them.

However, the blue full beam light on the dash does come on when they're turned on.

The headlights are standard J-Spec.

Any help would be appreciated.

check fuses...

Well, there are only 2 headlight fuses that I know about.

The 15A L and R ones under the bonnet.

These are both fine.

My dipped lights are OK.

Do these fuses not supply both dipped and full headlights?

The only thing that I can think of is a loose wire behind the dash but I don't want to go in there unless I really have to.

Where was the bad earth mate?

I haven't located it yet.

I went back and retested for a positive at the headlight, using the chassis as the negative (before I just tested for pos/neg off the connector).

I reckon that the problem lies behind the dash.

I had a new engine put in recently and it looks like the dash was taken out for some reason.

I'm also missing the dash lights.

The 'dome' fuse under the bonnet is sound so I'll have to investigate further.

Dash lights are now sorted.

I found the fuse in the driver's footwell.

Some people say that the fuse should be in the passenger footwell but I

couldn't find any fuses over that side.
