SEDGE
Mate of mine well over filled it with oil which ended on the m1 with clouds of smoke pouring out the back. Pulled it over on the hard shoulder and turned it off but it kept running for about 40 - 50 seconds on its own. So since then it wont start anymore, could it be the turbo gone and filled the cylinders with oil or could it be the engine blown ? Does anyone have any ideas where to look ? I did take a glow plug out expecting to see alot of oil on it but didnt really...there was some in the intercooler though. Thanks
SUPRALOOPY
You are lucky. It sounds like it was going to go runaway on you. Drain and flush it before trying to start it again.
Guest Specialized
Is there anyway to stop an engine if it does this?

SUPRALOOPY
You can try stalling it, but that usually just snaps things inside. We used to just get out of the way and hope it seized before it exploded.

Had a look at it yesterday, none of the glow plugs working, so put a new set in and drained some oil to the correct level but still didnt want to start. Im thinking the engines going to need a compression test done.
bignum
This happened to a mates astra, we towed it round the block and it started, the problem is that the cylinders are still full of oil and towing it should clear them.

SUPRALOOPY
Keep running it. It will smoke like that for a VERY long time.
