AndrewOW
I found this little fella wandering in my lounge last night, and while I was getting the iPhone's camera to start he decided to have a wander up my arm, my back, then up to perch on my ear. It tickled a bit, but he seemed friendly enough. I think his recent killing of Happy Feet helped to calm him down a bit though! That isn't the back of my leg, it is in fact my elbow, but he was a biggie.
Matt H
Jesus christ! .. you have hairy arms! That is a biggy mate indeed, not sure about letting it climb all over me though
michael
Do you have any other shots? Could be a tiny spider on a hairy "Beadle hand" for all we know.
AndrewOW
Jesus christ! .. you have hairy arms! That is a biggy mate indeed, not sure about letting it climb all over me though Yes, indeed. My mum didn't know whether to put me to bed, or put me outside for the night! He was really quite friendly, after he stopped being hectic, that is. They don't half move when they want to, but they are fine once they calm down a bit. Do you have any other shots? Could be a tiny spider on a hairy "Beadle hand" for all we know. I did take another one across the back of my fingers, but for some reason the camera on the phone decided to lose that one. I may try to find it again later, unless it came back in the cat flap again last night!
AndrewOW
My left palm measures 3.5 inches across, so the spider was nearly that long when he was outstretched across it.

I'm sticking with my Beadle theory for now but I don't think you go out looking for a spider like that, if it wants to have a wander again it will come looking for you

SupraStar 3000
most spiders are venomous, just few have big enough jaws to bite human skin.
Matt H
most spiders are venomous, just few have big enough jaws to bite human skin. Didn't know about the jaws but new that most were because they paralyse their pray. I just thought Humans were too large for it to have a remote effect. Learn something new everyday! SimonT
Oh my god!! If there is one thing i hate in the world it would be spiders i had 3 in the space of 5 minutes last night in my house i cant stand them and im not afraid to admit they scare the absolute s**t out of me!!! I know its sad but ive grown up with my mum and sister screaming everytime they saw one so i think it drummed it into me when i was little that i should be scared of them and now i hate them so it worked! I like the glint she has in her eyes. I bet she's a crap mum though with all her offspring just running about without any control. Parents nowadays. Rubbish! RedM
You're very tall, aren't you? That penguin on the floor looked tiny from the height of the camera!
AndrewOW
You're very tall, aren't you? That penguin on the floor looked tiny from the height of the camera! I'm 5'10, or thereabouts, so either Happy Feet is very small, or the depth of field on the camera isn't particularly great!

Charlotte
What kind of spider is it? I mean, did it come in on a ship or something?! Eek.
AndrewOW
What kind of spider is it? I mean, did it come in on a ship or something?! Eek. It's just a common or garden (or in this case) giant European house spider. They normally live in sheds, garages, or in any normal house. Don't have nightmares!
