Right click on the image and then click on "edit". That will open up the picture in paint. You can then go to "image" then "resize/Skew", select pixles and choose the size you want. I normally go for 1024 wide. It automatically adjusts the height for you.

i just open it, click edit, resize and half the width and height or set to 50% ;)

 

Depends on your camera settings. My camera takes pictures that are over 4000 pixles wide. Hitting 50% would still make them over 2000 pixles wide which is massive. Your camera perhaps takes 2000 pixle wide photo's so hitting 50% works fine.

 

It won't work for most people though ;)
