I'm genuinely interested if i'm wrong Gav... or there's more too it?

Nope, the term is called powerbraking. Foot hard on the brakes and the accelerator, it won't hit the rev limiter as the stall point of the torque converter will be reached first, lights go green, let go of the brake. Be warned not to sit on on the brake for too long, as it DOES get the ATF rather warm and coolers should always considered if you plan on doing it often.

At what point does the stall point kick it?
