ellis
Hi all - new to the Forum, new to Supra ownership! Had a BMW 325i coupé but decided time was right to get a car I've lusted after for a long time and I'm not disappointed. OK, so its only a N/A, but its still great fun - TT one day maybe! OK, reason for post - one of my front wheels has a slight buckle (apparently) - they're AVS Model 5s and I'm really after 2 but I can't find any suppliers on the web. Any of you guys got any contacts or ideas? Any help greatly appreciated! Pic of car attached too!!http://www.ellisgrange.co.uk/images/supra.jpg
hadyn
how do you know its buckled?? MVK2s are a good copy of that advan rim - I used to have a set on my old 200SX:
ellis
I took it in to Kwik Fit to try and balance out a bad wheel wobble (only had the car 2 days!) and he showed me it bouncing slightly on the machine. They balanced the wheels and tracked them as best they could but the wobble is still there - worse at higher speeds. Where did you get your rims from? ellis
I paid 4.5K for it! Mind you, it needs two rear tyres and a starter motor so I can kiss goodbye to 500 big ones for that lot!
ellis
Have found a supplier for the AVS Model 5s - only £396 per corner! MVK2s are £125 a piece - just need to find out if the finish is the same and if I can use the cap from the AVS wheel on the MVK2. Apart from that, anybody know of a good wheel refurbisher who can straighten out a kinky wheel?!
klump
Hiya Could you tell me who and where the supplier for the AVS wheels are that you found ? Thanks mate

ellis
how do you know its buckled?? MVK2s are a good copy of that advan rim - I used to have a set on my old 200SX: Another questions then mate - if I replace the AVS front wheels with 2 MVK2s, do you think I can use the AVS centres? They're held on with small Allen screws which I'm assuming the MVKs aren't (could always use the MVK centres as a base for the AVS centres?) hadyn
The mvk centres werent held on by allen screws

ellis
The mvk centres werent held on by allen screws Thought they might not have been - just wodering if I could use the AVS centres without the screws - just use the MVK centres as a base. Just a thought!
