SO what im am wanting to know if what fuel and ecu mods are neccessary to make around 600hp.. Heres what i already have... T61 single w/ 1bar spring 46mm tial wg FMIC 3in piping 3in exhaust The bad is sweet jspec fuel system and kind of on a budget... im running a step colder plugs now on a 1bar spring.. Thanks in advance!! you would have to run some major boost to achieve 600 hp from a T61 and that kind of power doesn't lend itself very well to being on a budget , to get around the 550hp mark you would need some other supporting mods but fueling and ecu wise 650 PE drop in injectors and an Emanage ultimate would be able to handle it
Guest rhd_2jz
yeah i figured the turbo would of about had it around 600 ive seen guys putting down 550whp @25psi with this turbo setup with some 101 octane on a stock fuel system and tuning of course... what about going from high to low impedence should i wire resistors or get a resistor box or will the emanage output low impedence? Are the stock fuel lines and regulator enough with the 650 inj in the stock fuel rail?
Wez
Hold on, you are running 1bar on a T61 with stock jspec 440cc injectors and no fuel controller or ignition map mods from stock?

Guest rhd_2jz
uh yeah..hence why im here! im running a wideband and a egt and i most definitly havent been floggin the car i've pulled the plugs numerous times to check for lean or detonation conditions and so far nothing bad but i know its not gonna last forever... T2 MSW
Did not think you could check for detonation from examining the plugs?? Thought that was the whole point of det cans??
Guest rhd_2jz
do you know why plugs have a pepper speckled look to them? Detonation.. also know as melted bits of piston on your spark plug....you can read alot from chopping up a few sets of plugs...too rich, too lean, too much or too little timing, where and what color the burn is on the porcelain..how much of the ground strap and center electrode are deteriorated.... Back to my original question please what about going from high to low impedence should i wire resistors or get a resistor box or will the emanage output low impedence? Luxluc
Stock fuel lines will be fine. A lot of people are running singles with the standard rails and only bigger drop in injectors (at least 650cc).
Guest rhd_2jz
what about the FPR im assuming that needs to be upgraded as well?
Tricky-Ricky
I am running GT4088 with 540cc denso injectors, at 1.35 BAR, was with a std FPR, but now with an aftermarket one, i also have an Emanage and i have yet to see more than 85% injector DC, so you should be fine on anything from 540CC up. However quite how your getting away with running std 440cc with no fuel trimming i don't know, other than pure luck:blink: and while i agree you can tell a lot about how a motor is behaving by looking at the plugs, IMO it is not really applicable on modern, and especially turbo engines due to the way the ECU runs things, and if you can see signs of det on a plug its far far too late. Get some det cans and knock the boost back, as i am certain you have already seen some det with that setup, and its only a matter of time before you're rebuilding. Wez
I run a stock FPR as does JamieP on stock rails, I use PE650s and Jamie has PE800s EDIT, what you need is a means of controlling them and updating the ignition map before you blow the motor. Why bother removing the plugs, you can perform the same level of diagnostics and prevention by monitoring the exhaust for burning oil and sensing a rough running of the engine.
