Aweegin
..I'm no expert but when I bought mine they said football was one of the tests of a good lcd.. 50hz sets struggled. I got a 100hz set, now i see they make 600hz sets. I have seen pixelation around moving people on my buds tv.. maybe your problem relates, like the processor trying to keep up? Hmm not very helpful really...am i still talkin?
dukenukem
I think for a high speed picture 720p is better than 1080i. Your LCD is probably set to 1080 as its the highest resolution for most programs. They have several settings. The i means the vertical lines are interlaced on the screen i.e. it refreshes every other line 1/60th of a second and then goes back and does the ones in between, where as 'p' is a progressive scan where it goes through and refreshes each line one after the other, which gives smoother, sharper picture for fast motion. 1080p is the best quality picture but I don't think you can get it unless your watching a blueray disk (not from a sky box anyway). 720p is quicker for fast panning action. I think you need to match the source resolution to the display resolution otherwise you can get these abnormalities. I have a Pioneer Plasma which detects the source itself and changes automatically to suit what your watching. It's proper swank.
Bobbeh
I don't think they even broadcast sports in anything other than 720p as you won't see the benefit for the bandwidth they use for 1080p. (unless its something static like golf)
The Raven
So somewhere should be an option to turn down the 1080? or am i stuck with ghost players till they catch up?
dukenukem
Yeah, I think all Plasma and LCD's have the option to change them, some even do it automatically to match the signal. As Bobbeh says if sports are broadcast at 720p you need to set your LCD to display 720p, otherwise if its on 1080 you might be watching gremlins when you want to watch the footy. SatSport
Is this a brand make or a cheapie? Satellite or terrestial source? Sat. delivers in 1080i not p, don`t have the bandwidth. Possibly a play around in the menu may help. As said before Pioneers and higher end tellys won`t have this problem with motion\artefacts etc.

I rang LG who told me to play with the true color setting, seems better but not fixed yet so will ring them back again.
