SupraHuman
What is the difference between the two trims when it comes to the turbo? Is it the shape of the housing, the size of the impeller etc? I am about to get my new tubby from Comp Turbo ordered and there are just WAY to many options there, don't want to get it wrong. Thanks in advance
Kirk
Im pretty sure its to with turbine and housing design. With the housing its just to do with the angle of the outlet to the intercooler piping.. i.e Q trim angles out so you can fit intercooler piping like stock (through the inner wing) P trim angles straight down for a short run to the intercooler but usualy have to modify the waterneck to suit the fitment.. 'waits to be corrected'
jevansio
Something not quite right in that explanation as turbine housing design & outlet to intercooler contradict each other, ones hot side, others cold side. From a Precision document they describe the 2 as: P = P Trim, Quick spool with sacrafice of some top end boost Q = Q Trim, Normal spool with more top end boost

Kirk
so going off that then its all about inlet and outlet sizes?

SupraHuman
X trim. Do you mean to say X trim is the right option for Supras Phil? Comp Turbo list their options as MX and SX. http://www.compturbo.com/products/index.php?folder1=Turbo_Chargers&folder2=CT43&product=CT4374
