a98pmalcolm
Hay people, small problem occured today, my car is idling around 200 RPM and its low that it nearly conks out! Everything else is running perfect. Is the a screw or somthing to control the idle? that is be able to screw in,or out to adjust the RPM to around 750 on idle? Thanks Paul Edited August 14, 2009 by a98pmalcolm (see edit history)

SUPRALOOPY
Was it always doing this? or have you just masked a problem?
Homer
It shouldn't need any adjustment on the throttle body so as Dave says it sounds like it's masking another issue. Boost leak? IACV issue?
Hermit
I agree with them Adjusting the cable stop will work to keep you going, but idle rpm is likely to be erratic, probably low when cold (or high when warm). Most likely IACV (Idle Air Control Valve) problem, or possibly TPS (throttle position sensor). Have you done any work recently around there? Perhaps you could have kinked a hose? Zofix
Sorry to bring this up again. But my MKIV TT auto have very high idling on coldstart. it starts at 1600rpm and lower with a very slow rate down to 1200 in about 5min. Is there any way to adjust this easy or do I have a bigger problem? It have been like this since before I bought the car.
Chris Wilson
Start by removing and properly cleaning the throttle valve assembly and the idle control valve assembly and see if that fixes it.
Zofix
huh!? hehe I thought It were easier, nothing is wrong with the car at all, the idle at coldstart is just alittle higher, Would prefer to lower it 400rpms, it is not just a simple turn on a screw? or will it give me further problems then? As mentioned, it's most likely an idle control valve or possibly sticking throttle control. IACV is the most common so is a good start point. Also as stated before, you shouldn't adjust the screws on the throttle position it'll only mask a deeper issue (and won't help if revs are too high anyway)
