Durandal
Ok quick info J-Spec supra going BPU keeping stock turbos. I've got a HKS SSQV BOV mounted in the stock location with the kit and after searching I'm still not 100% sure on a couple of things. 1) Will venting to atmosphere give me some lag while shifting compared to recirc? 2) If I am only going to 16-17 psi for a safe zone should I have just replaced my stock one with a new stock one? I realize since my supra is J-Spec non vvti that I don't get the rich problem that MAF's get with venting to atmosphere. The venting to atmosphere sound is kind of cool but I'm really looking for what setup performs best and is best for the turbos, engine etc. Thanks and sorry if I missed where this might have been answered. The tech article post by Ian was very informative but I'm just looking for some details in a setup with stock turbos and stock ic.
Chris Wilson
Recirculating MAY reduce spool time a fraction. It will be unnoticeable though. To prove my point try with no BOV at all, you won't measure any spool up changes. Personally I think a stock valve is far better quality and more reliable than any of the shiny aftermarket stuff.
