dibbleyuk
Hello everyone! had my car on pistonheads for a few weeks and had a guy contact me last week from finland been talking to him all weekend regarding buying my car he loves it and has booked his flights for 23rd aug and is sending me a £500 deposit via paypal over the next couple days. Great news Just a few things as i know a few guys have done this already. What do i do! Accept cash? What do i do with the V5? How does it all work with overseas buyers he wants to drive it home. Ive got a very very good price so any advice would be great!
Tom
What do i do! Accept cash? Yes take him to the bank with you to pay in, get £'s of course What do i do with the V5? You keep section 11 and he takes the rest of the log book How does it all work with overseas buyers he wants to drive it home. He should have sorted insurance before coming over, he'll take your plate number for that reason Ive got a very very good price so any advice would be great Nice one as above

Tom
great Problem with payment is he is coming on a sunday obivously banks are closed Ah, ok well if it was me i'd take a pic/photocopy of his passport seeing as he'll have it on him already and get a note checker I probably would have requested he came on a week day tbh, but you'll probably be fine but it doesnt hurt to be too cautious I know i'd be a bit panicked monday morning when paying in the bank (Please be real notes! please be real notes! ) Edited August 12, 2009 by Tom (see edit history)

ellis
I'd invest in a note checker from Staples or similar - i did when I sold mine UK spec to a guy from France who brought over the cash in a bag!!
