Trig
Of recent times id say nothing comes close to COD4, but i remember back in the day there was a game on the amiga called "Hunter". i remember me and my bro used to play this for hours and hours! ozz
Tough call, I think I'd say Command and Conquer, probably the Generals/Zero Hour era.
DamanC
Something of interest; http://www.filibustercartoons.com/games.htm Note the inclusion of many failsole mags. These tend to attract monkeys that struggle with up up down down A A B B. As a result, Mario and Zelda and other retarded games rank much higher than they should
Steviekid
I loved Bioshock as it was a bit different. Can't wait for Bioshock 2 (although it's been delayed )
lexsum
doom was great in its day however i recently re-completed it on xbox and was surprised by how it had not held up the way original video games have, such as pac-man, galaga, etc. all said however the best fun i have had is multi-player on mariokart and recently l4d. Scooter
My favourites were some of the old school standups, 1942 and Defender in particular, in that era nothing you could play at home came close to these machines.

My favourite console or PC games were probably Flashback, Kick Off, Sensible World of Soccer and Wonderboy In Monsterland 3. Haha as you can tell I have not played many recent games, I am old school
Kieran
Mario Kart (on the SNES), Super Mario World, GTA IV, Fallout 3, Championship / Football Manager series, Command & Conquer Red Alert or Frontier: Elite II. Probably spent the best part of a year of my life playing on these games and couldn't choose a favourite.
