I've got a leak. HEEEELLLPPPP

I have a water leak at the back of the wheel behind the belt.

 

There is a bolt where it it seems to be dripping from.

 

Water pump?

 

Or something else?

 

I have the technical knowledge of a Gnat so please treat me gently.

 

Yes it did overheat, yes there was a small puddle under the car and no it's not still leaking.

 

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

i take it you mean behind belt and fan not flywheel if so most prob its water pump

Sounds like water pump from your (crap ) description. Any chance of a pic of the bolt it's leaking from?

 

The flywheel is behind the engine inside the gearbox bell housing.

Water pump seal and / or bearings are gone. there is a drain hole under the pump to allow water that seeps past the seal to escape, it's from this i would say the water is exiting from. I have pumps in stock. Get it done ASAP as it will get worse. maybe fail altogether. Not worth risking overheating or a blown head gasket or worse!! Top the water in the rad and overflow bottle up EVERY time you use the car, meanwhile.

Unfortunatly you will have to take off the belt to do it (timing) , there is also a rubber o ring that goes between the pump rear assembly and the block but ive never seen one leak !!!!
