AJI
I think my clutch is about go..... it's making a type of 'whirly grinding' noise on cold starts especially in reverse. Only just started to do it in the past couple of weeks. I'm used to the usual noise from the gear box etc. but this is definatley not that noise. I think this month is going to be exensive (@rse!). How much are clutches at the moment? And does anyone have the part number at hand? Cheers.
Kevin Huntley
Hi AJI, I have just replaced my clutch with an uprated RPS Max clutch with a street disc, which was about £450 from Paul Whiffin. The standard clutch from memory was about £250 which came as a kit including all the required bearings. I had to pay an additional £50 for the standard Toyota bearings to go with my RPS clutch. I had them fitted by a mechanic in Hexham for £170 which is far cheaper than Toyota doing the job. I can give you his name and number if your interested, he has also re-placed Kaleel's clutch and I can highly recomend his work.

AJI
Thanks for the info guys. Kevin : Is the guy in Hexham experienced with Supras? If he has done a few (and he sounds as though he might have) then I would realy like his number and address. Thanks. I've still to ring up Toyota to see what they will be charging but if they are expensive, which no doubt they will be, then I'll be making a trip over to Hexham.
