DSK
I have the Samsung Tocco Ultra, anyone know how to turn off the keystroke sound as I cannot find the option to do so anywhere on the phone?
Fitz
I'll check at work tomorrow if you still haven't found out by then
DSK
Many thanks. Can't find it in my owners manual and also had a search through the FAQ's on http://www.samsungmobile.com to no avail. I do not know if the keystroke sound is always on and unable to be turned off or if there is an option to switch it off. Just asking as its very loud and comes across rude when you're in a group of people trying to send a text or check something.
tbourner
On my old Tocco it only turns the keypad noises off when it's on silent (IIRC)
monsween
I have a tocco old version, on the side there is a volume buttom, next to the micro sd card. Use that in normal mode to turn them off.

That makes the whole thing quiet though. And now I'm thinking that's what he wanted! For some reason I assumed he just wanted the sounds turned off when writing a txt, but left beeping at other times!

Thats what I want, just the annoying sounds off when composing text messages etc
tbourner
Aha!! My assumption was right!!! I think I assumed that because I was just as annoyed when I first got mine. Stupid noises that come out of it when txting!!! I'd be happy if I could change the tones to something more normal!

tbourner
but it silences all the keypad presses. I only want the keypad pressing silent when writing a txt, I still want the menus and selections to beep.

WHY?? each to their own I guess, the noise irritates me! anyway DSK may not... as that works to silence keystrokes on all recent Samsung phones...allegedly! Pot
To turn it into a beep instead of the usual silly noises (For all of the keypad presses, you can't turn it off just for texting) :- Menu Settings Phone Profiles Red Arrows for the profile you're after Phone Sounds (From the dropdown at the top) Keypad Tone to 'Beep'... Should make it a bit more bearable
