Tuned in to ITV's coverage of the San Marino GP.

9 laps to go there's actually a race on Alonso in 1st with M Schumacher in 2nd right up his arse.

Top race schumi trying really hard and renault sticking it to ferrari in their back yard.

3 laps to go.....COMMERCIAL FUCKING BREAK. TOSSERS

comes back to one lap to go.

Cant get on the itv website prob server crashed.

Now they're showing the last 3 laps in full...... i wonder why.

:complain: :swear:

I remember when Sky had F1 for a season - 1999 (i think). That was really cool, just like PremPlus. No Ad breaks. You could choose camera angles. Pit Radio.

Bernie binned it because ITV was loosing money & was paying him more money than Sky.

Now - I don't watch or follow F1 on general principal. I'm more interested in this A1 racing starting in September. Every team having the EXACT same kit & equipment. No team having a technological advantage over the others.

Driver vs Driver.

I'm surprised anyone still watches F1. I gave up with it years ago, after the BBC lost the franchise. I did give it half a season but the ITV coverage sucks really badly.

That and the rule change to allow mid-race refuelling totally ruined F1 for me.

Was a good race today though, i've gone off F1 too, not enough action and too much overtaking in the pitlane.

Give me proper saloon car racing anyday, DTM, BTCC, Aussie V8, they just rule. I hope the A1GP is good though, certainly looks it on paper :)

Sticking the lap counter over the start lights at the beginning of the race was a neat touch too, not ITVs fault in that case though.

The ads really annoy me, as does the silly little noise they use when a title pops up at the bottom of the screen... biddly beep... biddly beep...

I liked the BBC coverage a lot more and as mentioned above the dedicated SKY channel was a vast improvement but undersubscribed :(

I recorded the race and have only just finished watching it, worst thing about doing that is avoiding the result all day long :)

Come on guys, the race was amazing, alonso keeping schumi back for 12 laps....shumi's blistering pace round the track and anhilating button...

agree with you all about ITV's advert interruption.....bar from that the coverage is superb.

It was such an anti-climax... Just like you were having really good sex and the little lady decides to get up just as your getting ready to .... well you know.

I was very pissed off and wanted to voice my opinion on the ITV website but of course they have no outlet for grievances.

I agree it was really out of order that they did that and they knew it was pretty fukced up because they showed the last 3 minutes that we got ripped off.

ITV sucks donkey dong.

The new GP2 series started at Imola. 600hp Dallara cars all the same with bridgestone grooved tyres. They suport all the European Grand Prix with a race on Saturday afternoon after F1 qualifying, and a sprint race on Sunday morning before the Grand Prix. The races are shown live on Eurosport (or Eurosport2), and a Brit won one of the opening races at Imola :)

i was really disapointed with the coverage of the race, i think that this season the racing is starting to become much more interesting and im finding myself actually watching the races all the way through!

the ad breaks are getting fcuking rediculous though, my missus (a huge schumacher fan) was jumping up and down and screaming at the telly when they put the ad break on with 4 laps to go, it totally ruined the finale of the race.

Sat tv is getting just as bad, more adds than programm.

I much prefer BTCC these days - although I must say this year the teams seemed to have abandoned it. I did catch the first race of the new WTCC that had James Thompson racing in it a few weeks ago though.

That series looks as though it's gonna be worth watching.

both my dad and i jumped up and swore at the TV because of the advert just before the end.

WHY!!!! Only needs a few more laps then they could show 10 minutes of fcukin adverts and it wouldn't bother me.

Good point about the FootBall MfS, Never thought of that one :)

Thats what you call "moving the goal posts".

FootBall can have 45mins before the adverts.

F1 gets 15 :(

ITV are in full control of when they put the adverts in as they are obliged to include five commercial breaks during a race...

Mark Whittell, a spokesman for ITV Sport, continued to defend their coverage. arguing that they were ‘obliged to include five commercial breaks during a race and that they did not want to take the final break while Jenson Button was in the lead’. However, as the Guardian pointed out, Button lost the lead on the 47th lap of the 62-lap race.

"We had put four in and didn't want to cut away from the action while Jenson Button was in the lead," Whittell declared "There is no scientific method to it - we try to put them in at the least contentious point of the race.

"We took a break with three laps to go just as Michael Schumacher was battling with Fernando Alonso and we came back before the final lap. There had been no change in position.

"We endeavour to show viewers any action they have missed. In this case the situation had stayed the same. Had it changed we would have showed viewers the action after the break."

Bernies "channel" does not dictate the exact moment that the breaks need to be shown. I would assume that ITV gets most if not all of the revenue from the companies that paid for the air time on ITV. Bernie gets his chunk at the start of the season from ITV for the rights to broadcast. Unless I am mistaken and someone else knows ...
