caseys
Hey All, Looking to take the girlfriend away for a night somewhere and nice restaurant or a good day out seeing sights or spa etc. Contemplating anything in the south of England at the moment or Wales actually. Prepared to travel 3-4 hours from Dorset. Anyone recommend me anywhere in a nice town/city/countryside getaway? We go up to London every 2-3 months so that's out. Anyone in South west / South East of England, Wales or roughly anything south of Birmingham I will consider. Was contemplating Bath as I spent a lot of time there but she hasn't but jeez the nice hotels are *expensive*. Sightseeing, museums, theatre, shows or just countryside. All considered Looking to spend about £300-400 on the hotel for a night stay sometime mid-week. Got any suggestions?
Hobgoblin
Hereford and around is very nice, gorgeous countryside, see if you can find the website for the Castle House Hotel.
Guest morganl7
Sorry if you've already gone but, St Davids Hotel in Cardiff is really nice. Has a Spa too and overlooks Cardiff Bay Hope you have, or had, a fab time!

caseys
Thanks for the suggestions so far guys, looking into them, nothing booked as of yet. Even yet to pick a date! Pot - Well there's the Isle of Wight, but I'm sick of that place after having sailed round it the other month at a blistering pace of ... 6 knots. I'd only go to france via the tunnel. Ferries = just too slow for my liking.
