madmike
ok well i have won a ticket for a concert on saturday and the chap only lives 7 miles away ,so i thought lovely i can pick it up today .. but no he says he will only post it and says it can take 2-3 working days know i havent paid for it yet so do you think i should forget it and try and buy another one or leave it in the hands of the post office
Ric
if he wont let you pick it up he probably doesent have it, or shipping it from somewhere else. Id leave it personally
madmike
yeah does seem a bit odd he wont let me collect ,just its getting very last minute now to get a ticket and i promised the g/f i would get one and take her as she all ready has one
kslb
Just email him and say if you cannot collect you do not want it, simple.
bigbloodyturbo
in his auction was collection in person an option? sounds dodgy to me but if you don't pay him he'll open a dispute unless his auction said collection ion person and you have an email saying he didn't wan't that. If he only lives 7 miles away you could also use 192.com and pay him a visit:innocent:
madmike
i did think of a personal visit , no his auction said free post
stevie_b
Just email him and say if you cannot collect you do not want it, simple. Agreed. As bbt said though, he might open a dispute if the auction said "post only". If it did, you're crazy to have bid in the first place. Or, an alternative is to ask him to send it guaranteed next day delivery if the auction said postage only.
madmike
just got an e mail from him although seems to be from a womans e mail now saying pay by paypal your wasting time will ask about next day
Matt H
F"ck him mate. If he's not willing to be accomodating then don't deal with him. Sounds like he's been purposefully ackward.

Whitesupraboy2
Tell him you want it special delivery next day if he is going to post it. As if it doesnt arrive before weekend with normal post. Its useless to him. Tell him happy to meet in neutral place. Asda or tesco or something.
madmike
yeah said neutral place but didnt even answer that one what a pain i dont even want to go that much

benkei
You kind of put youself in the situation TBH. You knew he would only post the item, now you're asking for collection. If it were me selling, I'd be happy to let you collect, would save me having to post it then but I don't know why he wont let you? Down to Ebay's rules though, you've won the auction, so now you are legally binded to pay for it. The longer you mess about, the longer it will take for the ticket to arrive. You could always ask for next day delivery, but if he's being awkward then he will probably send it second class, 'arrives when it gets there' delivery. lexsum
there is no situation really. buyers have the run of ebay, you can't get negative feedback for not paying - so don't. buy elsewhere rather than -> pay, get no tickets, email, contact back and forward, get told it is the post office's fault, try to claim, get into a dispute, eventually maybe get a refund 6 months later. [that is your future] or don't pay, (and he will get a fee credit from ebay.)
martini
ok well i have won a ticket for a concert on saturday and the chap only lives 7 miles away ,so i thought lovely i can pick it up today .. but no he says he will only post it and says it can take 2-3 working days know i havent paid for it yet so do you think i should forget it and try and buy another one or leave it in the hands of the post office I sold a ticket recently. The buyer of the ticket was an agent that wanted me to post the ticket directly to the person that has paid him for a ticket... this might be the same thing. You might be getting a ticket from "sold_out_specialists" or someone, but he doesn't have it yet. He is trying to find one now and then it will get posted special delivery the next day usually.
