caseys
Well all ADSL people using a BT line, you can get an i-plate which can boost your bandwidth due to taking out the interferance caused by the bell wire in your socket. BT are doing a giveaway of the i-plate, normally it's about £10 but you can get it off them just for postage costs. Linky for an article and info http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/08/05/i_plate/ May give you an extra 50kb/s or more for what... £1.20? Or you could be really mean and get it for £1.20 and flog it on eBay for £5-6.
Whitesupraboy2
or do what I did and just disconnect the wire. All modern phones dont require the ring wire it was for the older phoens that couldnt detect an incoming call and it gave me extra 4mb or something guy at work went from 1mb to 10mb!!!! but he lives in a really old house where the wiring is that poor that if you blow on you get interference! http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=135432

stevie_b
The free offer is only if you're with BT Total Broadband: We'll use these details to check you are a BT Total Broadband customer. If you don't have BT Total Broadband, order broadband now or buy the Accelerator via the BT Shop.
caliAl
I disconnected the wire myself and it made bugger all difference. What did make a difference was the crappy IP profile BT put on lines. I would not use any BB company that does not use their own LLU at my local exchange. I went from 1MB to a straight 4MB connection after moving to Be.
