JamesG
Was driving to work this morning and spun the wheels (in a straight line). Slip control light came on, but it didn't go out. I didn't try accelerating to see if it had cut the power as I was in traffic. After about 30 seconds I turned the traction control off and on with the button and the warning light went out. Is this usual behaviour for the slip control light? When I've spun the wheels before, the light has just flashed on and off for a couple of seconds. James. ChrisR
Same thing happened to me yesterday afternoon for the first time. I guess its supposed to do that, hopefully, maybe. Regards Chris
Terminator
I have not got stock TC anymore, but as I recall if the TC comes on big time the light will not go out you have to reset the system by swithing it off and on again. The flashing light is just for minor TC operation.

Thorin
It has two modes of operation, it flashes if the wheels just start to break traction. If the wheels start to spin more it switches to "snow" mode, the light come on constantly and robs all the power.
AJI
I remember before I removed the TRAC fuse that when I was getting wheel spin the TRC light would flash but it would always go out when traction control wasn't doing anything.
Justin
Phil's right. I have stock TC and if the light is on permanently you just need to push the Slip Control button in and out again to reset it. JamesG
This "snow" mode sounds like a good idea. I wonder by how much it cuts the power? Probably useful in very slippery conditions, but no substitute for a lighter right foot! James.
randy
TC is damn anoying! esp: When you are trying to show off to your friends and you forgot to turn it off. I just removed my fuse but now the Trac light is flashing, for that I have to pull the bulb.
JamesG
Isn't that tempting fate, given the arctic tundra conditions of Bangalore? James.

It cuts the power noticeably, but it's still not exactly slow... I accidently switched it in once instead of switching off the TC (the buttons are next to each other) and it still accelerated out of the junction quickly! -Ian
Gareth Davies
Yeah 'snow' mode was the 'improvement' on the facelift models. I find it crippling to the cars performance when it's on. A real heart stopper when it flushes all your boost down the toilet after crossing a cats eye mid overtaking. Pressing the snow on mine instantly dumps all the boost, pressing it is like letting go of the throttle at higher speeds. "Great Fun" . However it does allow you to drive a load safer in the snow... who would have guessed.
