bigcol
Just decided to go on my jollies in 4 weeks to Mexico apparently at the moment the mozzies are huge and are partial to "british beef" rather than become a victim of a fooking feeding frenzy:( can anyone recommend what the strongest and best repellant is on the market? apparently jungle formula doesnt seem to do much and before you ask i hate marmite, cheers guys

Carl_S
I just get my jabs done and brace myself. I think there is a bit of mascochism involved. As I used to be, or maybe still have an allergic reaction to them.
Branners
Jungle Formula has always worked for me, and if you are in the room at night the little plug in or burn sticks work well too, but thats only from being in Scotland, Malta and southern Italy, the Gonzales mossies may be a little more resilient. turbonut
chew on raw garlic, apparently it works a treat ....ok, it'll repel your friends and family too so it will probably be the most peacful and relaxing holiday you've ever had
Soaruss
Plug in jobbies for the room, they work a treat, and believe it or not Avon do something called Skin so soft dry oil spray (green lid) which is better than a lot of spray repellants. My missus says it doesnt smell ( I cant remember) so its ok for men. We know a lot of people who also recommend it. http://avoidmosquitobites.com/mosquito-bite-prevention/natural-mosquito-repellents/avon-insect-repellent.asp

cal
ive just got back from turkey, and i dont know about mexico but i found that mosquito repellants that i bought in turkey worked better than any repellant ive bought over in the uk. I used one called "off" which i got over there, however it did have a very small johnsons sticker on the bottom so it could be part of them, not 100% though. Sharpie
Went to India last year just after the rainy season, did not get bitten once. 100% DEET is the proper stuff!!!! http://www.roamingfox.co.uk/Repel-100-percent-Deet-Insect-Repellent-pr-16337.html 120ml will do you for 2 weeks easy. Note: The Extra Strength range of Jungle Formula only contains 50% DEET.
Sharpie
If you don't want something as strong as 100% deet (no for kids) then go for the 55% stuff, still better than high street stuff and much cheaper. http://www.roamingfox.co.uk/Repel-55-percent-Deet-Insect-Repellent-pr-16143.html I used the trader in the link and found them very good. Already booked a trip with locogringo for $165 you can spend a full day snorkelling and swimming with whale sharks so that could be interesting (Mrs Col WILL be going first )
