caseys
You can pick up old Porches for not that much now. Are you going to just track it? i.e. take it to the place on a trailer?

j1mb0b1
Budget? MR2, 200SX My budget would be around the 1.5/2K mark and another 2K to mod, It would need to be road legal to drive me to and from track but other than that just a track car.. jamesmark
Deffo a 200SX, you could get an S14a with enough mods to keep up with a TT supra to 100mph for your budget. £2k of mods will see it a hell of a lot faster than a BPU Supra.

j_jza80
Deffo a 200SX, you could get an S14a with enough mods to keep up with a TT supra to 100mph for your budget. £2k of mods will see it a hell of a lot faster than a BPU Supra. An old jet engine? £2k wont buy you a decent turbo and supporting mods to see it quicker than a BPU Supra. Would still make a fun track car though. I'd be looking for an Integra (An Si or Si-R if a type R is out of budget) or a Corrado VR6.
jamesmark
An old jet engine? £2k wont buy you a decent turbo and supporting mods to see it quicker than a BPU Supra. I beg to differ, my S14a is only at Stage 1/a and I can just about keep up with a BPU Supra, the Supra does lose me when you get close to banable speeds. Having owned 2 BPU supra's in the past and went up against my mates one a few times (and he is no slouch behind the wheel) so basing it on my own experiences. A stage 3a S14a which you can do for £2k will piss all over a BPU Supra. (obviously the £2k budget ont he car woudl need to be at stage 1 first which in this current climate is not a tall order)
AlexM
If you can get over the image 'problem', an MX-5.
add heywood
Escort Rs Turbo... You can buy for £1500 for a tidy one and £500 to mod it and get close to 200 bhp. Very easy to tune and work on
Guest Garfy
MX5, then use the 2k to bolt on a turbo
