pistonbroke
Oil pump is probably a good idea, it'll provide piece of mind that the FMS isn't going to jump ship along with all your oil when you're tanking it. As for the water pump, I'm not aware of there being any big issues with them, if they go, they go. If there's nothing wrong with it now, I don't see why you should bother replacing it. If I'm wrong on either of those though, I'm sure one of the legends will be along soon to correct me.
SteveR
Anything that is a PITA to get to but that will be accessible during the build.
JamieP
If it aint broke dont fix it, oil pump is a major pita to change, engine out job really.
Frank Bullitt
If it aint broke dont fix it, oil pump is a major pita to change, engine out job really. But if the engine is already out would be worth doing?
JamieP
But if the engine is already out would be worth doing? Imo probably not, if the oil pump is knacked id want to do a complete rebuild.
JamieP
Just a thought, have you removed the fuel pulsation damper? worth doing if you want more than 550ish bhp.
dude
Just a thought, have you removed the fuel pulsation damper? worth doing if you want more than 550ish bhp. Worth doing at BPU IMO, I hate the things. Also a good time to get rid of vacum canisters etc and tidy up water pipes etc, with a bit of thouhgt you can make the engine a lot easier to work on in the future. No didnt even think of this Jamie, will it cause problems if i leave it in?? Worth doing at BPU IMO, I hate the things. Yeah were going to be tidying up things in the bay for easier access in the future, one being the power steering pipe as it stuck in between the oil cooler pipes, so rubbing will defo be a problem in the future I still had mine in till recentley, it only started to restrict at 558bhp:) Forgot to ask, where is this located??
