mwilkinson
Well after 3+ years ownership I finally got round to sorting out my duff aircon. The symptoms had been no error codes on the self diagnostic on the heater controls. When I switched on the aircon for the first time each day I would get about 5 min max of aircon then it would turn warm. I had the car regassed and leak tested but no issues there (this was done by my brother at work so he did nothave the equipment to do a diagnostic pressure check). Finally took it to a specialist AVCAS in Alton, Hants. This was after I had roasted to death on a trip to Whifbitz last Saturday!! They have tested the system and have found a sealant present which has blocked the expansion valve. Car is booked in for Tuesday to have this either cleaned or replaced. They are also going to fully clean the sytsem to get rid of the sealant. It's just finally nice to know it's not the compressor or something equally gastly and expensive. mwilkinson
Nope. I think I was too scared to get it looked at in case it cost me ££££

mwilkinson
This can happen if you over gas them or put the wrong gas in too, mines doing it!!!! Hopefully this was ruled out. They evacuated and recharged the system as part of the diagnostics. Yours should be easy to rectify then?
