Fuel gauge/pump help

Some of you may remember my thread about me replacing my fuel pump and then the fuel guage constantly sat on 1/4 tank. Well tonight after work i took it out gave it an inspection, (all looked fine) put it back in and now the needle sits on empty!!!!!!!:blink:

Question im asking is when putting the hanger back there are 2 holes the big one that is seen in the boot compartment then further down about a foot + which is smaller. Does the float/ fuel guage sender go inside this as well, or sit above this. Common sense says yes it goes inside the second hole along with the filter from the fuel pump, the problem is i have done this and still nothing, I have probably snagged it somewhere, and all it needs is a "wiggle" :search:

Normally I wouldn't mind keep taking it out and checking but its just I have alot of I.C.E in my boot and is a RPITA to keep moving, when I think I have sussed it.

Sorry about the essay, hope it makes sense:hide: All "helpful" comments will be greatfully received.

Thanks everyone:d
