got into my supra back from work and was moving it back so my flatmate could put his R6 in the garage but my foot slipped and revved my supra hard on start up, and cold engine, the i heard a horrific crash in the engine bay. switched it off opened the boot, and my fan has been shredded??? all I can find is a metal round ring that looks like a belt goes on it but can't see where it has come from but my fan is totally bust advice on what to do would be helpful. Please advise

It at the bottom of your engine? the crank pulley outer ring has probably separated from the pulley and the belt has minced your fan.

Have a read : http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=35945&highlight=crank+pulley

Look like that?

If so buy a new OEM pulley is my advice. You'll also obviously need new fan, check the shroud's ok, new cam belt required too.

Some buy a solid pulley but say the damping effect is gone.

yeah it looks like the bit the £1 coin is sat on in the picture that you posted that link on. Sounds right that the outer crank pulley ring has come off and destroyed my fan. So you recommend a new crank pully?

New crank pulley is needed, you can't really put that back on...

New fan. Wonder if the viscous coupler will be fine? Unsure. Others will need to advise you on that one

New cam belt (MHO - precautionary measure)

The whole pulley hasn't come off has it? the pulley is now smoothed yes? as in the outer ring (with the grooves) - the dampening section has come off? I'd worry if the whole pulley has come off. BTW you will need a specific tool to remove/fit a new one if you DIY.

Give Steve Manley a call - http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=41383

OEM pulley may be more expensive than others like Titan etc. I'm sure some others will weigh in here :)

Be glad it came off when you weren't out somewhere stranded mate! I had one separate and I got a flatbed home 2 hours later... luckily mine exited neatly and fan was fine, the aux belt even stayed on the pulley somehow!

Stock pulley I'd say Steve Manley above, he's Toyota but he gives a reasonable discount. A non OEM pulley will be cheaper, but may introduce crankshaft vibration with the damping affect of the stock one.

Other person I'd try would be Paul Whiffin (http://www.whifbitz.co.uk).

Maybe you could get the fan from a breaker's like Keron on here. Don't think that's really worth buying new
