Guest Garfy
yep, do you have a de-cat? it could be that it is no longer required and was tied up out of the way
lust2luv
First (downpipe) cat is out, second is in at the moment - is it essential, or would it be okay just to cable tie it out the way? (may have been that way previously) Cheers
Guest Garfy
I pretty certain it will be fine
stevie_b
Temp sensor or O2 sensor I guess.
edge
Cat 1 temp sensor. Just tie it out of the way.
Hermit
As above, but if you have the 2nd cat in then isn't there now a hole in it where this was?
Al Massey
As above, but if you have the 2nd cat in then isn't there now a hole in it where this was? No the temp sensor goes into the first cat. It will work perfectly fine without it connected, mine wasnt connected for years and never had a problem and im fully decat. Just tie it out the way and all will be fine
Hermit
No the temp sensor goes into the first cat. D'oh! I was thinking of the Soarer, which only has the second cat so the sensor is at the end of it. Does makes more sense, I was wondering how it managed to get pulled out without eating 2 inches off the bottom of the car first!!
Keefred
If it is an n/a I think it is called an exhaust temperature sensor, I lost the tin shield off of mine over a bump and at first I was sure what I could see in exactly the same place as in your picture was the 'Lambada' ! sensor. Turns out there are 2 of them but they are both up on the manifold and the one at the bottom is a heat sensor

mikeyb10supra
Its fine although you might want an EGT gauge to keep an eye on things
