Dead drivers window

ADD

Recommended Posts

Hi all, for the last month or so the drivers window has been making a horrible grinding noise when going down and coming up, but would never go any lower than half way. Finally today it has given in, the window wont go up at all and i noticed when i took the card off that a copper wire has snapped. The window has fallen right down and can be pulled up but hits the blue stops half way. do i just need to replace this wire or will the motor need doing too? the wire has come out of the pulley completely too.

Any help would be great.

I think you might need a new motor as if I'm correct in thinking is the copper wire connected through the motor? The other guy's post before your's has broken a plastic bit on the window, I've told him that I'll have a look tomorrow as I think I've got his part, as well as yours. Will let you know tomorrow...

The motor is normally okay, but it's common for the cable to snap.

You need to buy the regulator sub assembly, the motor is the black part on the right which you don't need.

Part number 69801-14111 regulator sub assembly right hand

That's what I meant, I do have a driver side one as in the picture above, however the plastic bit on top of the picture as you look at it is broken. If yours is still intact, then you might be able to swap the plastic bit?
