VX220/Elise/Exige - delete as applicable

After 7 years I realise the Supe doesn’t suit my driving style. I don’t use the max top end performance and get very bored on motorways where you can. As a biker, I spend most of my time on the twisty A & B roads which as many know has been the death knell of many Supes. The other week I had a spin in my mates VX220R. F*cking hell! It’s a 2 seater race cart. It sticks to tarmac like there industrial strength velcro on each corner. We went round twisties at ++ G that would have sent my Supe off into the lush scenery. It’s been tricked-up, kicking out 290 BHP in a car weighing 900 kg, it rips 0-60 in 4 secs. I need one and I’ve got this week off to find either a VX220, Elise or an Exige. Originally I took the week off to test ride Aprilia RSV4, Ducati 1098, Fireblade and R1. It's time to for a change. Hands up who wants a UK Supe?

I used to work for Lotus over in Ireland mate, I sold them for a year after working as a mechanic for them. I've a few videos of them around tracks, Excuse the driving these videos are of when I only started driving them.. haha.

Listen to the noise of the Exige S with the 57i kit. My god what a car. Duno bout the Vx220's though.... Brakes never felt as good and the car didn't seem as nimble as the exige or elise.

Heres the videos

If getting a VX220 make sure its a turbo, I would personally go for an S2 Exige, I would stay well away from all S1 rover K series based Elises & Exiges, all IMHO of course :D

:yeahthat: Exiges are awesome. A friend has a S2 Elise 111 K-Series and while it handles well it's pretty slow.

I was at a Lotus Exige/Elise owners meet last night. Friendly lot, they had a lot of respect for Supras. And were kind enough to show their cars. They couldn't believe all I get is 15 mpg. Both Exiges and Elise are alot harder to get in and get out than the VX220. 'Slow' they maybe. They're so light and nimble, they get a bit twitchy above 120. But on a twisty Cotswold A road it's a different story. I couldn't keep with up my mate without using the entire width of the road yet he stuck to his lane the entire time and not a squeak of rubber.

True. I only drive the supra to show off, because I love the look, becuase it's a toyota, becuase I had the older version and liked it, and becuase this one had good reviews and reliability, and becuase I found an example that looks like the most outrageous car I have ever seen or driven.

But I too considered the VXR220, but prefered, I suppose an older, more "masculine" car.
