tbourner
Anyone else got maggot infestations? Seems our bin keeps filling up with them at the moment, it never has before. Maybe it's because we've now got a dog that eats raw chicken and we never had before? Also, the cat food bowl gets them squirming now when it never did before. Maybe that's because it's upstairs now when it never was before? BUT We also bought some potatoes and whilst peeling them one had a hole in it, I cut it in half down the hole and there was a lone maggot inside eating our tats!! Little git! ALSO I just went into the bog at work and there was one crawling up the cubicle wall!! Is it just this year there are more for some reason? Or have I become maggot-man and attract them? michael
Fire... it's the only way. Lots of flies in the house? Visible eggs on the cat food? Those filthy things pump them out pretty quickly, remember when my cat used to have wet food, within an hour the bowl would have eggs in it which I would then have to kill with fire before throwing it all away. Moved to dry food, much better. Sounds like it's you that's infested though if they are at work too, get to the docs or just use the fire on yourself and report back. HTH. Axle
Fire is good for solving most problems.... apart from your house being on fire. Apparently even that also has it's uses for insurance purposes too.
supspower
On a more serious note maggots come from flies so maybe use one of those sticky things on the window that attracts them then eventually kills them! keep the bin closed, empty it more often, clean more often.... dispose of raw chicken left overs in a seperate bag then bin it maybe
Animal
I read in the local paper the other day that parts of Preston is currently plagued with flies - so bad that shops and restaurants are having to close.

Scott
Few years back we had a similar issue with the catfood. We were giving them Whiskas supermeat. If they didn't finish it that day we would normally leave it for them until they did. One day they just wouldn't touch it and on further inspection we saw why, their bloody dinner was squirming. Got the shock of our lives, ready to write to Whiskas etc etc. We thought it was their food that contained all the crap. Hasn't happened for years, as we started them on dry food, but now they are back on wet i guess it could happen again. I can only suggest that the catfood is the source, raw chicken also to a certain degree but only after a long time. Catfood turns quickly, well the supermeat ones do anyway.
