right now i'm susing the hks 60mm gages they are pretty acurate. normal temp on the gages are 7, the water temp stay at 7 wile the oilt temp goes to 8 and up. after driving the car for 20 min or so the water temp start going up to 8 and 8.5 and the oil temp goes up and down betwen 8-9 that's just driving it easy like a VW polo LOL

Is your water pump working correctly. Seem's odd its ok on tick over but when your driving it it get's hotter. Unless a belt is slipping.

Are you driving it hard when you say your driving it ?

Unless some underlying issue is up. Seems really odd the oil temps going up.:(

Don't let the stock temp gauge fool you, it's designed to stay rock steady during all driving conditions to give an air of reliability. The water temps will however be fluctuating 20degC or more while all this is going on. Same for oil temps, and they can cheerfully go to 110degC all day.

Whats +++++ might help us understand temp issues.

BPU +++ has been used in the past where a + (plus) has indicated that you have moved up a level from basic BPU.

It used to go something like:

Stock

BPU

BPU+

BPU++

BPU+++ (also known as BPU and all the pluses)

and OR APU

Shown here:

More info here too:

It's not used much here in Europe and not sure if they still use it across the pond these days either ?

actually i had a compression check done last week and the block is rock steady so is the head gasket! the reason why i know the temp is not right is because it didn't used to be like that before. the car actually overheaded once and then i replace all the cooling componets, that's why i know is not running normal. i have the old 60mm hks oil and water temp along with thet oil press gages i got them from JP along with 90% of my parts the rest i got them from US. and yes is very strange!! i had all my friends over for a hole weekend trying to find out what the problems is so i decide to write the exprets who else that i really supra owner!

yeah i have to get to that! also i was thinking that the new electric fans that switch to does not have a shread so the air pulled by the fan might not go direc to the motor instead to the sides! or how about the timing on the cams can that be the problem?

IMO electric fans are a downgrade in 90% of Supras, the engine fan shifts FAR more air, is properly ducted, and is driven by a thermostatically controlled viscous clutch. Why mess with it? If needed, on full drive by the clutch, it shifts a HUGE amount of air. It may draw a few BHP (say 2 or 3 BHP, maybe 4 ?) from the engine, but it has serious grunt when required. A 3 HP electric motor at 12 volts? Forget it, you'd have something huge, heavy with MASSIVE current draw.
