Machine Head have pulled out 'cos Rob Flynn is a whiny little girl who didn't like being billed under Limp Bizkit and Anthrax have fired their new singer and look like they'll performing with John Bush back up front for this gig only. I reckon I'll drive the majority of the way there friday evening, find a Travelodge, then get there early Saturday morning. I've got a 2.5 hour commute home Friday lunchtime, Lucy doesn't finish work til 5:30-6pm, then it's something like a 4 hour drive to Knebworth, so it's a fair bit of driving. Animal Posted August 3, 2009 Share Posted August 3, 2009 Urgh - got in at 4am this morning. Just driven the 2 hours to the b&b ready for work tomorrow. Absolutely shattered, sunburnt to buggery, but it was a cracking weekend. Anthrax, Heaven & Hell, Lamb of God, Mastodon, Saxon and Alice in Chains, put on blinding sets. Linkin Park were ok for a while, but shouldn't have been headliners - they started repeating songs and half the crowed walked off before they'd finished. Limp Bizkit were shit, as expected while NIN were better than I expected and Lucy said it were a good set. As feared, Metallica were truly awful and should be banned from attempting to play anything from pre-Black album records. And Lars should be shot. Left after 4 songs and went home.
