lethallee77
Hi guys after being a member for ages I finally got round to getting a soop yesterday:) but the clutch is starting to slip I was told that it might be because the hydrolic clutch is set at the wrong point if that makes sence is this true or is it a new clutch? sorry if it seems a silly question. Mariusz
Has it started slipping in the higher gears ?
lethallee77
yes its seems to be mainly in the high gears 1 and 2 seem ok
lethallee77
there also seems to be a clunk just before it slots into gear coming from the back but when the engine is off it does not make a sound is this related to the clutch?
supra dan
sounds very much like you need a new clutch
lethallee77
new clutch it is then, what about the clunk, sounds like it's from the diff area people have said that the 6 speed is clonky but it's difficult to engage when the engine is running before it engages it clunks when the engine is not running its really smooth does slots straight in
Gaz6002
The 'clunk' is quite common on the 6 speed box, and it's also known for being fairly 'agricultural'. Get the clutch changed by a Supra specialist garage and get them to tell you whether your gearbox feels right or not.
