its just cus your in the habit of not eating it. i was exactly the same and had a terrible diet, only way you'll change is to introduce different textures and foods slowly, like you would as a child, only its easier as a kid as everything is new.

i hated all fruit and again it was textures.. i hated pasta and rice cus it had no taste yet it was chewy i mean WTF? i hated fish cus all i could think about was the little fookers swimming around yet why didnt i have a problem with bacon? lol, eventually i just started forcing it down me.. now i actually like it all.

just for the record tv over dramatises real life to make programs more appealing. i didnt avoid apples cus i was an abused child lol, and the reason i didnt eat greens wasnt cus i had a recurring memory of my mother stuffing an asparagus down my pants , its all bs i didnt like the stuff cus i was never made to eat it, end of. an id put money its the same for u mate

When I was a kid, I used to HATE cooked meals (meat & veg, etc) I used to live pretty much of breakfast cereals. It wa sonly after realising how GOOD for you the cooked meals are that I started eating them. That, and my taste in food changed too.

When was the last time you had any veg?

If you've convinced yourself you don't like it, then the chances are you still wont like it. Look at it from a nutritional point of view - it's good for you, so eat it!

Although these shakes seem like a good idea, can you really live off shakes? Seems like an expensive lifestyle to me.

You could have a look for some recipe ideas? You say your mum can't cook, so maybe it's up to you to start learning to fend for yourself? If the texture of the food puts you off, maybe cooking it differently would by-pass that? Then once you've come to terms with the different foods, then you can try eating them in different recipies? Experiment with food, you eat it everyday, so try and keep it interesting and enjoyable. You'll feel a lot better about the accomplishment of over-comming your fears, and yuou'll also be getting the nutrition you need too :)

Just get a blender and mix the fruit up with some drink you like the taste of - job done. End of.

Surprised no-one has suggested this yet.

Can you eat beans and pulses?

What about soup? Why not get a load of veg and blend it all up into a thick soup. You'll get the benefits without the odd texture sensation.

I still reckon you need to do some digging as to why it affects you like that though.

some one kinda did same principle and good idea, fruit smoothies rock!

As suggested earlier by Martin Smoothies are a good way of getting the nutrients you require.

Worst comes to worst, go get yourself a good multi-vitamin. Not the ones from Holland and Barrets either - They are inferior quality.

Some MRP are beneficial, again research is important when choosing the correct MRP for your goals.

There mare many factors as to why you may feel constantly lethargic. You could be Iron deficient for example. No doubt by the sounds of what you say, your body is starved of nutrients so this wont be helping matters.

What is your typical day’s diet?

meal replacements are if u want to loose weight buddy. dont beleive all the crap about oh its good if u cant find the tme to eat.

make some sandwiches and take em to work or cook some chicken the night before take it to work the next day and eat it, perfectly safe to do so i used to do it all the time, derek poudstone does it.

tuna mayo and some pasta in a tupperwear container, yoghurts, cereal bars ham and cheese sandwiches.

can u tell i disagree with MRP

plus maximuscle is over rated and expensive IMO

you stated that a MRP is only used for losing weight!!! So your saying you'd have a MRP instead of 200g chicken, Veg, 2tabls olive oil??

There is loads of CRAP in the meal Replacements dude, hence there NOT good for dieting.

I decided to diet a little while ago, and went for something incredibly nutritional and it had to be tasty too.. So I found this smoothie that is easy to make and fills you up, throw the following in to a blender:

Handful of Spinach leaves

4 chopped and peeled Apples

Half a ripe Avocado

Squeeze of Lime

Half a Cucumber

Half a small tin of Pineapple and the juice

1 x stick of celery (I always leave this out as I hate it)

Some ice

It is loaded with the 6 essential dietary needs. The avocado provides fibre, good fat and protein. The smoothie is packed with loads of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants to nourish your body. It also tastes just like apples, you can't taste any of the other ingredients really.

Sounds like you are fitter & healthier than most to be honest.

Plus you are taking steps and looking for advice to eat more healthyly which is another awesome thing.

As sexy as I am, even I do not have a six pack, so a four pack is pretty awesome stuff man. Plus you can box - that's great.

When I was still with her, and was recovering from a cold, my girlfriend, an A&E doctor, recommended I take a multi-vit and mineral supplement. It's name is berocca, and it's made by bayer, the pharmaceutical company.

My advice to you for the moment is don't change your diet at all.

That is apart, from 1 thing. Ok maybe one or two things. Take it easy, and above all, enjoy your food.

the whole point of a "supplement" is to supplement your diet of whole foods. cant eat fruit/veg - stick to eggs, meats, chickens etc... plenty of alternatives out there.

i make my own protein flapjacks, 1kg has around 400g protein, 100g fat (... omega3) and around 500g of oats, if you like em sweet throw in some honey. Stays fresh for over a week and it costs next to nothing.

That sounds good. I may even try that myself. :)

The Dutch Oven which you no doubt administered probably didn't help. :D

Oh, this went on throughout the day AND night during my 2month course :D

She knows when I start having it because of the f@rting :rlol:

L33, I know exactly what your going through because up until a few months ago i was in the same sort of situation, i have always hated fruit and veg and have never been a healthy eater, i would have rubbish for breakfast, take cheese sandwiches to work aswell as crisps and chocolate, and then eat fast food when i got in, also i had bad stomach aches if i had milk so always had pop or somthing instead.

A few months ago i bumped into a few old mates who had been going to the gym for quite some time and they all looked twice the size of me, and i decided i wanted to try and eat better and pack on a few pounds aswell, At 23 i only weighed 9 stone, and wanted to pack on bulf quick so i too looked into Maximuscle products, i ordered myself 2x Pro Gain and 2x Cyclone to help add protein to my diet. Now it may just have been me as different people will react different to these products, but my stomach didnt like the shakes AT ALL, i had very bad cramps and ended up bringing it back up within an hour of taking it. Now this may have been due to the fact my diet was so poor, but it was a shock to the system and put me off them instantly.

I then decided i would try the natural approach, so i stared having Soya milk, this seemed to work great so i tried adding 2x bananas and some strawberrys to it and making a fresh shake, this worked realy well and made getting some fruit in me a whole lot easier, Just like you i dont eat fruit whole as i dont care much for the taste, but having it with milk in a shake form was totaly different ( Hold your nose and down it if thats what it takes, but once you've drunk it then thats it ) ive now started making little changes in all areas of my diest and its making a world of difference. Ive started taking 3 cooked chicken sandwiches to work, a flask of soup, 3 or 4 rice cakes, and a activia fibre yogurt, I eat whole grain cereal for breakfast with soya milk, and have some sort of chicken or fish with rice or pasta most nights for my tea, plus i take a 1.5 litre bottle of water to work aswell. Ive managed to put on just under a stone in 9 weeks and feel like ive got bags of energy.
