jamesmark
The other halfs father was merging 2 partictions into one a program called partiction magic by power quest. It stalled on 3% and stayed like this for 4-5 hours so he switched it off. Now he cannot access the data that is on the drive. All that appears is PQ files instead of ntfs (I think that is what he said) and they only appear using a program called Acronis. Both Acronis and partiction magic do not have a recovery option. Anyone know of how to recover the data as he does not want to scrub it due to quite a bit of data being on it.
Guest superdave
I think as the saying goes, it's stuffed and beyond recovery. Re partitioning any drive with data on it is risky:(
JustGav
Try using Getdataback from Runtime software, it usually does a good job.

MaveriK
Recovermyfiles is cracking, tested it by formating and installing windows 3 times. Got back 65% of the old data. Worth noting that the "recovery" must be done on another machine with the old drive slaved or second mastered. If you try and do it from itself it will not work as well for obvious reasons. Good luck
