RedM
Do large emails require more bandwidth (or whatever) when they are sent? If so, that must surely use more power thus rendering the first line a complete nonsense.

More bandwidth, more storage space on hard disks of servers and workstations, and more storage space on backup systems, both at the company and everywhere else that gets emailed to, I suppose, and I don't think single instance storage works on a paragraph basis .. It might seem daft but I (being involved in the legal side) can see the potential cost savings of such a signature. For example the disclaimer re staff not authorised to enter contracts.... If a staff member gave an undertaking to deliver xyz by Monday and the disclaimer wasn't there, there might be a good argument that the consumer could sue company if xyz wasn't there for Monday. Only need one instance to cost mucho moneyo the legal privilege paragraph is utterly unnecessary by the way.
