Bugs
This might be a really really stupid question, but since I've never owned a Supra, I'm entitled to ask silly questions Why dont you see a Supra with more than 1 exhaust?
Branners
Lets turn the question around, why would you need a supra to have more than one exhaust?
AlanM
It only requires one
Bugs
Yeah but, does it make it worse to put more than one on? Not that I would do it, I'm not a big fan of 20 exhausts on your car, but I'm rather curious.
Branners
It would still work fine, depends on how the exhaust is made, what route it follows, what silencers it has on it and how those silencers are made. If its 2" non mandrel bent with a baked bean tin for a silencer it may not be good for the car, but a decent 3" mandrel bend exhaust with proper silencers should be okay. There are some pictures around of twin exhaust Supras, they tend to look a touch odd for some reason.
Kirk
supras are just not meant to have dual exhausts end of!!
Bugs
I think you are right m_life, and I think thats why they look at bit odd Branners. I really love the single exhaust on Supras. Especially since allmost every new "super" car got 4 exhausts.

Bugs
Ah cheers. So there was a point in doing it too.
Pot
Because Supra's are too heavy to be used as wheelbarrows?
JODY T
The Fuel Tank is also in the way!
Pot
JODY!... Damn you for coming out with the sensible answer!...
_Shane_
Even if a supra was to come with 2 exhausts it still looks much nicer with just the
Gaz6002
I like twin exhausts like some skylines have, with two 3.5" pipes next to each other. Saying that, from an engineering point of view I'd only ever have a single pipe on a Supra.
DSK
When originally designed the centre section split into 2 before going back into a single rear silencer. The after market exhausts have just 1 straight centre section. As mentioned, this reduces weight and helps give the exhaust gasses a less complicated path to flow out of. Its also cheaper to replace 1 exhaust silencer or pipe than 2..... For the OP, you also never see Subaru's or EVO's with more than one exhaust. The Lamborghini Murcielago also have one large exhaust...... Its important to remember that exhaust flow is a major aspect of engine performance, start pissing about with it and you'll end up ruining it. Bugs
Thanks for a very informative reply DSK. I really enjoyed that. I'm not that into high performance cars, so its allways good to learn something
