Ive had samoyeds before, they are renownd for having a good tempremant so biting is unusual, however they are also renowned for chewing !!!, watch your furnature, and take it for loads of walks as they are very active (they will pull your arm off as thats what they are bred for:d)

So your mate owns the dog for a couple of months and gets rid because it bites? It's a pup, they need to be trained not to bite, they all do it as a form of play to start with, some more than others!

Then you take it on and know nothing about the breed, don't know how big it'll get etc.?????

I'm sorry but it's all a bit unfair to the dog and I do hope you now read up plenty on the breed and stick with it, they ain't toys or objects to pull the birds with ;)

Regardless of it 'biting' your mates kid I think he sounds a bit of a knob for not looking into it further before getting one and you taking it on was the easy way out imo.

Edit: nice dog BTW, give it the life it deserves.

wow i just got owned

who am i to decide what he wants to do, ive always had dogs and have trained them in my own way, its just useful to know of habits etc..... ive read up on it now so not to worry ;)

So you're gonna stick with it which is good, just seemed odd to me to say you'd taken it on and then asked questions about the breed?

So you would keep the pup and teach it not to bite even though it had had a nibble on your little one ?. Would take the risk and hope that it didn't bite your little one again even though it may be worse next time ?. I would of done the same and got rid of the dog, then again the reason we don't have a dog at the momment is that we have a 20 month old, so maybe the guy shouldn't of got a dog in the first place...

Back to the post, that really is a beautiful pup. I do miss my dogs.

My point is that the other guy had it 2 months, pups 'nip' as part of them finding their place in the pack and also as play.

No dog should be left with young kids unattended and maybe he shouldn't have got it in the first place as you say ;)

Only my opinion, too many dogs are pushed from pillar to post because of poor owners who don't think it out properly before getting one:(
