Selling to overseas.... question about V5

Simple enough question i hope...

I have a provisional sale of my car to a German guy whos coming over next week, cash in hand. All well and good.

Looking at my V5, im not sure which bits to send, do i do a change of keeper as per normal AND send the export bit as well, or just the export bit (but then surly DVLA will think it still belongs to me, but went abroad?)

If i send a change of keeper will they go cross eyed not being a UK address.... any traders on her clarify?

You only send the export slip if YOU are exporting the car yourself and are still the keeper which you are not.

I Phoned the DVLA before I sold mine and they said the buyer will need the whole document for his import.

In the end I made my buyer fill in the v5 as per normal sale and took a copy, i then sent the copy and a copy of the sale receipt signed and dated by both to the DVLA with a covering letter, the new keeper then had the original V5 complete.

all seemed to work as I have received my letter saying im no longer the keeper of the car!

hope this helps

Thanks for that seems dodgy that they get the entire document though. Ill need to arrange somewhere to get a copy done as im probably meeting the buyer at the airport.

Ill ask at the info desk if they can copy it when its filled out.

Thanks for the info mate.
