csa
Hi All I've just done a short trip in the car, and something is definitely wrong now. The whole thing started out with my AFR sensor being stuck at 14.7-14.7 when cold, and showing 15’s when cruising, conclusion was that the sensor is dead, and I’ve ordered up a new one (not here yet). I can feel that something is not running correctly in idle. I can feel the entire car rocking a tiny bit as if the engine is running uneven, and the sound of it is know quite right, without being able to put a finger on what it is. The car is juddering a bit when cruising with just a bit of throttle, but when applying a tad more, it seems to be normal. However, on full throttle if really behaves odd. It makes boost correctly but there’s no pulling power at all and the juddering is more apparent (only tried 2 runs, just touching full boost and then letting off). Yesterday I tried to connect the aempro software and do a short log in idle. don't know if it shows anything (attached), but could someone take a peek? So I'm now waiting for se sensor to see if something IS wrong with the fuelling, but in the meantime, is there something in the AEM I could check? cheerstest.zip Edited July 17, 2009 by csa (see edit history)
Lee P
Have you checked the timing? The rocking on idle sounds like a miss fire. Edited July 17, 2009 by Lee P (see edit history)
csa
when looking at the std picture in aempro, the timing did bounce up and down quite a bit...but what's a normal timing behaviour at idle? note to self: learn much more about that aem thing! Lee P
Check that the belt and pullys are timed correctly first, have you done the initial timing setup on the AEM?
csa
Ryan did all mapping of the car so I trust that he did that, andit's been running flawlessly for at least 2000miles since, but ofcourse I will chek that the pullys are still in the correct position. pistonbroke
It's boosting, but you get no power ? IC pipe off?
j1mb0b1
I had the same problem as this and it turned out to be a loose connector on the coil packs, I would give them a check mate hope that helps you.

wkdtime
It sound like it's missing, as stated above check the coil packs (The connectors tend to break easily, it may be worthwhile ordering a set and having them changed if they haven't been changed for sometime). csa
I've got a few new spares lying around for the same reason ;-)
csa
okay, so I checked the coilpack clips and found a broken one, thought hey-ho! changed it but still the same :-( any suggestions?
Gaz6002
okay, so I checked the coilpack clips and found a broken one, thought hey-ho! changed it but still the same :-( any suggestions? Did you check plugs after changing the coilpacks?
csa
only changed the clips, not the actual coilpacks. but will check the plugs as well tomorrow
csa
pulled 2 plugs today, and thet both looked like this: http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/7326/img0959k.jpg looks a bit too lean to me. Also I looked throug my old notes, and my fuelpress is actually down 5 psi from 40-35 compared to the date of mapping. Could I have a fuelpump issue?
